Herencia Flamenca emerged as a project to create a fusion between flamenco guitar and coastal Peruvian rhythms. Hermoza invited Leonardo "Gigio" Parodi, Peruvian cajón player, to play with him in a public concert. They improvised. "You play by landó and I play by soleá (serious flamenco rhythm)" said Hermoza to Parodi. And the theme "El Roble" (“The Oak”), a tribute to the Maestro Caitro Soto, was born. Herencia Flamenca is the realization of a project that reflects the influence of Spanish music on the coast of Peru.
